BMW fuel ribbon emulator
On BMW bikes, the fuel ribbon in the gas tank unfortunately will breakdown more often than you would like.
The reason? Opinions differ about that.
The yellow triangle lights up, all bars in the fuel indication are gone and the message FUEL! blinks annoyingly in your display.
Yes of course you can just continue driving, but how far is the question?
This emulator is very easy to connect to the existing 4-pole connector that is now on the fuel pump.
The connector fit in one way, so connecting incorrectly is not possible.
5 seconds after switching on the ignition, the ‘Data Check’ LED lights up indicating that the emulator is receiving the signals from the on-board computer. After 32 seconds the LED goes out and sends the new data to the onboard computer.
The emulator does this check and writes down new data every 32 seconds.
After connecting the fuel ribbon emulator, the fuel indicator always remains full.
You should ride on trip meter 1 or 2 and refuel at the correct mileage.
For the GS around 300 km and the GSA can reach over 550 km (depending on the fuel consumption).
